A creatures ability in a particular skill is directly related to their battle stats. Below you will notice each skill has one of those stats beside it. Throughout the hunt you will have to utilize these skills. For example if there is a log bridge on the map, crossing it requires the use of the balance skill. Each obsticle has a Difficulty Rating (DR) if your stat related to the skill required to overcome the obsticle is equal to or greater than the DR you will overcome that obsticle, and may continue on your way. If your stat related to the skill used is lower than the DR, you will not be able to overcome that obsticle. The DR of all obsticles on the map is determined before the Hunt is opened and will not be revealed to players.
Of course not everything will require the use of skills, and there will be plenty things to find throughout the map. All findables are placed about the map before the hunt opens.
Spot and Search are special skills.
Upon moving to a new area there may be somethings that are or are not noticed based on a Spot check.
When searching, there may be times when things are very well hidden, and are possible to miss. However there will be plenty things to find that are hard to find, what's the fun if you can't find anything, right?
Jump is a special case, the stat it works off varies due to type of jump. If you are jumping a distance (gap, stream, etc) it will work off Speed. For jumping a height (onto a cliff, high rock, etc) it will work off strength.
